📕 BOOK 18 - Wicked by Gregory Maguire
📖 If you’ve heard of the famous musical/film, then you know the basic gist of this book. What you don’t know is the original version is much darker, more graphic and not at all happily-ever-after. Think less Disney and more Angela Carter.
💭 Heavy on the politics, philosophy and ethics. A much more fascinating and complex take on the concept than the musical but it can get so dense at parts that there are entire sections where nothing happens narratively in favour of long-winded debates and lectures, which isn’t something I personally look for in a novel.
